It was quite a surprise to observe the lunar eclipse from northwest Washington State in February...as it is usually raining!

At -5 here in Madison, all I could do was setup the camera outside and let it run. Awesome eclipse. Images were taken at 5 minute intervals with a Canon 20D and a 28mm lens.

It was a great eclipse! The weather was fine with a bit of fog and some of the physics students decided to go out for it. We were very enthusiastic to watch this eclipse, even though the cold forced us to use the "pinguin survival technique" to keep worm at times. We just can't wait for the next eclipse in 2010 :)

This image of the total lunar eclipse was captured with a Meade LPI imager connected to an AstroTech 66mm refractor. About 50 two-second exposures were aligned and stacked with Registax followed by further processing with PhotoShop.

Here in North Texas we saw the lunar eclipse between clouds moving in due to a cold front. This picture shows the moon in a haze of clouds behind some trees as the star Regulus shines above it.

Wonderfull eclipse! Watching people going to work early morning, totally unaware of the red Moon above them was also interesting. Canon EOS 350D, Tamron 210mm lens, ISO 800, 2s exposure.
