The first day of March began with slender crescent Moon (12% of disk illuminated) and brilliant Venus (-4.1 magnitude) rising close together separated by mere 1.5 degrees. It was definitely worth getting up very early this freezing cold morning (-10*C) just to see the pair hover silently above southeastern horizon. Simply beautiful way to start a new day! Taken with EOS 400D + Sigma 24-80mm lens and WO ZenithStar 80 II ED mounted on AstroTrac Travel System.
