The students at Five Forks Middle School in Lawrenceville, GA tried their hands at solar imaging through my Point Grey Research Grasshopper Camera and an Explore Scientific 127mm APO equipped with a Lunt 2 inch Solar wedge on May 5th. We also used a Lunt 100mm Double Stacked H-Alpha solar telescope to capture these images of Sunspots 1203, 1204 and 1205 all in the same frame. The Sun is really putting on a great show these days and even a first time solar imager with the right equipment can get these breathtaking photos with the right outreach program showing them the way.
