I got up about 4 a.m.and when to my favorite place for observing in Cloudcroft N.Mex. Setup my Nikon D-40 and took random pictures of the sky hoping to catch a meteor. Got one in Orion as you can see it above the constellation. I did see a awesome fireball. As it came through the sky the meteor brighting to a magnitude of -10 to-12. After it burn up I could see the smoke cloud for 20 to 25 seconds. No I did not get a picture of it. That was about 15 to 5am. on the 14 of Aug. The other picture was taken on the 13 of Aug. the clouds form a Bird in the sky,but no meteors. Keep watching ,for I have seen meteors well beyond the Peak. Clear Skies Richard.
