This is my first observation of bright comet C/2009 R1 McNaught. I made this sketch through Dobson 350/1750. Coma was so bright I saw it by naked eyes (I estimated comet brightness to 5.1 magnitude)! When I saw the comet first, I couldn't believe it is the object, because it was really low above horizont (around 7 degrees). On the sketch the tail is very highlighted, actually the coma was much brighter than tail. It seemed like a big fuzzy ball on the sky in my telescope.
