Hi Tony Tonight I can confirm that comet Hartley is a naked eye object, I was lucky to have a stunning crisp clear sky and once dark adaption was obtained I was able to see the comet with averted vision as a very faint colourless smudge of light. Also included are a few images, the dark form in one of them is a wooden sculpture carved into a tree at Drumlamph woodland. Canon 450D, ISO1600, 18-mm lens, various exposures.
