Hi Tony My friend, Conor McDonald and I, did an aurora watch tonight and were delighted to catch another aurora display from the dark countryside over the Maghera area. The display was faint with a green band 7 degrees high, however there was a higher purple band above this. The highlight was an outburst in the activity when we observed 3 purple beams going up through Auriga and Perseus which are visible on this image above the clouds. Display lasted approx 2 hours. Canon 450D ISO1600 - 50 sec's approx 18mm
