geographic South Pole
At the geographic South Pole the aurora Australis were so bright that the photos are a bit over exposed when these were taken with temperatures at about -94 F (-70 C) just days after our temperatures dropped to -103.4 F (-75.2 C). The ice surface as well as the ten meter South Pole Telescope primary mirror was well illuminated.; J.
