Here in Northern Norway it has been a very cold, clear and calm evening, and me, being a bird-nerd as well as a night-sky watching-nerd, went out to listen for owls. After having been really lucky to hear a Tengmalms owl the auroras appeared behind the mountains in the bright Moonshine. Without a tripod and with very cold fingers, the pictures turned out a bit more shaky, but the conclusion was as crystal clear as the sky - winter is beautiful!
