En-route from Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary to the Aldinga Airstrip, South of Adelaide, South Australia. South of the coordinates given.
We were flying home in our chartered PC12 after a long day of testing low-cost mobile telephone networks for humanitarian use (details at http://www.villagetelco.org/2010/07/serval-arkaroola-demo/) in the spectacular scenery at the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Australian Outback, which is also a great spot for astronomy, when I spotted some scenery of a different kind out the window as we rose above the cloud bank: a Glory Circle. It was a pleasing bonus at the end of what had been a long but successful day. All our camera gear had been stowed in the hold, so we had to suffice with an iPhone to take this shot.
