For the first time since late 2006, I was able to see the Auroras in Minnesota. There were storms to the south and the area was cloud covered for most of the day and I thought it would be yet another event missed due to clouds. I opted to not storm chase on this day and hung around home in Minnesota just incase there was a slight chance to head out to see the Auroras. Just around ten at night the sky cleared up so I headed north to get to the edge of the cloud cover. I was able to watch the lights for about a forty five minutes before the cloud cover came back.
Shot with Nikon D70s at 800 ISO.
