I photographed this huge ejection prominence at 12:47UT, 28 July 2010. By 16:00UT the prominence was still visible but drawn out into a long, slightly curved, thin line. A remarkable prominence and one that just goes to show that the sun can often surprise observers even at this low phase in its cycle of activity.
