What a shame that such a bright and large comet is only available so low in the sky and only for less than an hour before the onset of astro twilight.
I have attached a result from this morning with C/2009 R1 McNaught being a mere 12 to 19 degrees above the horizon during the imaging session.
The comet is very bright and sports a most impressive tail.
We have another three weeks before it is lost in the sun's glare.
