2005 Perseid Meteor Gallery
back to spaceweather.com

Summary: By almost all accounts, the 2005 Perseid meteor shower was subdued. Sky watchers saw fewer meteors than expected, and the ones they did see were mostly faint. Even so, some very nice Perseids were photographed--see below.

This was the night's most bright Perseid, it left a luminous cloud that lasted several minutes and was visible to the naked eye during the first two minutes.

I thought you might be interested in this image and spectrum of a bright Perseid captured with a modified webcam and diffraction grating as it streaked away from Cassiopeia at 22:59 UT on 12th August. There is more information about it on my website.

Saw one much better but due to only using a 18-55 lense at 18mm, it evaded my FOV. Saw about 10 in 3hrs. Photo taken with Canon 350D; 1600 ISO; 20s exposure; 5.6 aperture @ 00:01BST.

The Perseids were not so great, but there were a few good ones. Eos 20-D with 20mm lens at f4, ISO 1600. Stack of best frames. I set the camera to shoot one-minute exposures from about 2:30 CDT until daylight on August 12, 2005.
