  Summary: Sky watchers in six continents (all except North America) witnessed the longest lunar eclipse in 11 years on June 15, 2011, when Earth's shadow engulfed the Moon for a whopping 100 minutes.

The first Lunar Total Eclipse of 2011 was seen in a famous surfers beach, Mole Beach ("Praia Mole") in Brazil, at Florianópolis city. Despite bad weather, the Moon was seen with very red colour.

A beautiful, long lasting Lunar eclipse. ---- First photo was taken with NIKON D90 + Nikkor 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6G ED VRII - @300mm - Aperture f/11 - 4 shots merged - Exposure 1/2 @ 200 ISO. The other 3 shots with NIKON D90 + Skywatcher Maksutov-Cassegrain 127/1500 (mounted in direct focus) @ 400 ISO. Exposure 15" / 20" / check the diagram on last photo.
