On the night of Jan. 31, 2010, a friend and I went out to catch the full moon. Suddenly the northen lights appeared. I got some nice shots. I used a Nikon D90 camera.

I was out doing some landscape images in the light from the full moon. Then the Aurora decided to show up. It was moving very fast.

On January 20th, I was driving from Tromsø (Norway) to Birtavarre in rainy weather when suddenly the weather cleared up and awesome auroras dancing over the sky. Both coronas and waves in the same picture.

Greetings from one last time from Pangnirtung. Sadly, after 12 years in Canada's north the time as arrived for me to return 'south'. Over the years I've enjoyed nights like last night when the northern lights gracefully dance across our arctic skies. The long range forecast for this week calls for clouds and snow - I'm afraid that last night's show may be my last. Oh well, I guess I just have to return as the draw of the north and the aurora are far too strong to ignore. I'll miss the beauty of the arctic night sky.
